Coursework logistics

The coursework assignments should be done in groups of up to 4 people. Note that there will be no ‘concessions’ in terms of marks for working alone or in a smaller group.

You will be working with the same group for both courseworks.

Every group member is expected to contribute sufficiently to the implementation of both courseworks.

Group formation

Please form your groups by the end of Week 2. This is so that we can generate the Gitlab repository for your group at the beginning of Week 3 to work on your first coursework.

You can still change members before the deadline of coursework 1 if needed.

See the official guide on how to form groups in Scientia.

Handing in your coursework

You will first need to form a group on Scientia.

  1. Pick a leader.
  2. The leader will add the remaining members to the group on Scientia.
  3. The leader will be the person submitting the coursework.

More details about what to submit will be given in the coursework specifications.

If your leader cannot find you on Scientia, it is likely because you are already in another group (probably your own group created by yourself). Please delete your own group so that the real leader can add you to their group.

Late submission penalties

Scientia is very very strict with deadlines. The departmental late submission policies will apply:

  • Up to 24 hours: Mark is capped to pass.
  • Beyond 24 hours: Mark = 0

If your group needs an individual extension or need to submit late with a valid reason, you should formally apply for extension via your degree coordinator who just so happens to be Josiah Wang for MSc Computing students.
